Note: This Privacy Policy is an extract and synthesis of the data-protection provisions contained in Fala Go's General Conditions of Use, principally Article 16 (Data Protection and Privacy), Article 6.3 (KYC Compliance), Article 9.5 (Fund Custody Disclaimer), and Article 11.3 (Data Used in Automated Decisions). The authoritative provisions are set out in the GCU. In the event of any inconsistency, the GCU prevails — and between the French and English versions of the GCU, the French version prevails.

5. Legal bases for processing

Our processing of your personal data is based on:

6. How long we keep your data

In accordance with Law No. 2010/012 and applicable CEMAC regulations:

After the applicable retention period expires, your data is either deleted or anonymized.

7. Who we share your data with

We may share your personal data with:

7.1 Independent Providers (Drivers, Mechanic Providers, Bus Company Partners) — strictly to the extent necessary for the provision of the Service you requested (for example, your name and pickup location for a ride request).

7.2 Licensed Payment Partners — Orange Money Cameroon and MTN Mobile Money Cameroon — for the processing of payments, wallet top-ups, refunds, and disbursements. These partners hold your funds; Fala Go does not. Their own terms and privacy notices apply to their handling of your data.

7.3 Other financial institutions and payment sub-processors — where necessary to process card payments or cross-border transactions.

7.4 Competent regulatory authorities — including ANIF, COBAC, ANTIC, and tax authorities — as required by Applicable Law.

7.5 Third-party service providers acting as data processors on Fala Go's behalf (e.g., cloud hosting, analytics, crash reporting, customer support tools), subject to appropriate contractual safeguards and confidentiality obligations.

7.6 Law enforcement or judicial authorities — in response to valid legal requests such as search warrants, court orders, or formal regulatory requests.

We do not sell your personal data to advertisers or third parties for marketing purposes.

8. International transfers

Some of our service providers may process your data outside of Cameroon. When we transfer personal data abroad, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as contractual commitments requiring the recipient to apply a level of protection consistent with Cameroonian law.

9. Automated decision-making

The Platform uses algorithms and artificial intelligence to match you with Providers, calculate prices, detect fraud, and assess risk. These automated decisions may be based on your location, transaction history, behavioral patterns, ratings, compliance history, and other data collected through the Platform.

You acknowledge that:

No security system is ever perfectly secure. You share responsibility by keeping your login credentials confidential and notifying us of any unauthorized access to your Account.

12. Cookies and similar technologies

As a native mobile application, Fala Go does not use browser cookies.
